Police have arrested a man suspected of brutally attacking an unsuspecting woman in broad daylight at a gas station in Alabama this week, according to reports.
The incident unfolded at a Chevron station in Mobile at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday evening.
Raven Stiles, a 28-year-old single mother of two, was walking from her car towards the store when she was grabbed by a male suspect who tried to rob her after slamming her onto the pavement.
“Next thing I know, you know, I’m being wrestled and thrown to the ground,” she told FOX10 News. “That’s pretty – pretty crazy, scary.”
The vicious assault was captured in surveillance footage.
Police later arrested Brandon Devonta Young, 28, and charged him with robbery in the third degree.
“Court records show Young got a criminal history. He pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary in 2013. A judge sentenced him to three years’ probation but later revoked it and ordered him to prison for four months for failing to report to his probation officer and pay court-ordered fees,” FOX10 News reports.
Young was reportedly unsuccessful in wrestling the keys to Stiles’ car from her and fled the scene before his apprehension.
Stiles, who works as a waitress at Waffle House, says she will likely be forced to miss at least a week of work with injuries sustained in the attack.
A GoFundMe has been established by the victim’s mother to assist the family with medical bills and lost wages.
