New York’s Department of Health is prioritizing “non-white or Hispanic/Latino” people when providing oral antivirals to Covid-positive patients.
According to a memo published Monday, “Non-white race or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity should be considered a risk factor,” and be treated in favor of white patients.

Meanwhile, New York Governor Kathy Hochul ironically declared racism a “public health crisis,” on Dec. 23, claiming, “Communities of color in New York have been held back by systemic racism and inequitable treatment.”
Now, in the name of equity, not equality, white New Yorkers will pay the toll for something out of their control.
