A 58-year-old woman was attacked by a male suspect wielding a metal rod in the New York City subway on Friday morning, according to reports.

The incident unfolded at around 8:30 a.m. in the Church Avenue train station in the Kensington neighborhood of Brooklyn.

The female victim was waiting on a platform when a man approached her from behind and “bashed her with the stick multiple times in the head, leg and arm,” NYPD sources told the New York Post.

The woman was treated for various injuries at Methodist Hospital.

Police have released surveillance footage of a black male suspect who appears to be middle-aged escaping the scene of the crime.

On Saturday, a man was smashed in the head with a hammer while standing on a platform in Manhattan, causing him to fall onto the train tracks.

Jamar Newton, 41, was arrested for the ruthless attack.

“He was previously busted for a chain-snatching in Harlem, and as he was being processed, police connected him with the hammer attack,” sources told the Post.

On August 15, a suspect wielding a hatchet viciously hacked an unsuspecting man inside an ATM in lower Manhattan.

Police later arrested 37-year-old Aaron Garcia of Yonkers in connection with the attack.

Garcia reportedly had at least eight prior arrests.
