Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, has demanded the United States formally recognizes the terrorist organization as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.
Since the jihadist attacks against the U.S. on September 11, 2001, the Taliban has waged a 20-year war against America.
Although President Donald Trump organized a plan to withdraw from Afghanistan by May 1, 2021, Joe Biden botched the agreement by not honoring the deal and withdrawing early.
The four-month extension allowed the Taliban to sweep through most of the country’s provinces and take them over with hardly any resistance.
According to Taliban leaders, Biden’s refusal to stick to the agreement meant they were no longer beholden to its provisions requiring the jihadists not to attack U.S. forces.

Initially, Biden changed the May 1 deadline to September 11 before changing it again to August 31.
The last of the American forces left Afghanistan on late Monday local time, leaving hundreds of Americans stranded.
Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, confirmed the departure before Taliban jihadists organized celebrations at Kabul’s international airport.
Mujahid told reporters the jihadist organization would now seek friendly relations with the U.S and the rest of the world.
“We want all countries in the world, including the United States, to recognize us,” Mujahid said, according to the Afghan news network Tolo News.
“We are part of the world.”
“We assure you that the soil of Afghanistan will not be used against any country or anyone.”
“Our message to the world is peaceful, and the world should reconsider us,” Mujahid reportedly asserted.
Earlier this week, the Taliban gathered in Kabul airport to celebrate defeating Biden and send a warning that their victory “is a lesson to the world.”
The celebration took place as militants dressed in seized U.S. military gear raided the airport.
“Congratulations to Afghanistan… this victory belongs to us all,” Mujahid said.
“The day is a “big lesson for other invaders and for our future generation” he warned.
