Lunden Roberts, who shares a 4-year-old daughter with Hunter Biden, asked a judge to have the president’s son arrested for disobeying court orders in the child support case.
Roberts’s lawyers in a filing Thursday asked the Arkansas court to pursue “civil contempt of incarceration,” alleging that Biden has not disclosed all financial information during the discovery process.
“She seeks civil contempt of incarceration until such time as the defendant fully answers discovery and to be paid for her attorney’s fees and costs, which are paid from her child support payments and thereby a loss to the child in this case,” Roberts’s lawyers said in the court filing.
“Specifically, the plaintiff seeks $20,000 to compensate for the discovery goose chases, hounding of the defendant, and need to constantly seek the court’s intervention,” the filing continued.
The filing also stated that Roberts was seeking criminal contempt, which she alleges would “instill in the defendant a course of corrective behavior that will cause the defendant to change his ways and become compliant in the future.”
In response to the filing, lawyers for Biden claimed in a Thursday filing that Roberts’s lawyers had filed the motion “without ever providing any indication the supplements provided a week ago were unsatisfactory in any fashion nor in the hearing with the Court less than 24 hours before drafting the Motion before the Court.”

The child between Biden and Roberts was born in Arkansas in August 2018. The child was conceived while he was in a relationship with Hallie Biden, his brother, Beau Biden’s widow, and has been living with her mother. Hunter Biden had initially denied paternity and any memory of meeting the mother at the Mpire Club in Washington, D.C. A DNA test in 2019 proved his paternity, and Hunter Biden settled with Roberts for $2.5 million in 2020, but the case was later reopened.
In December 2022, lawyers for Roberts filed to change the surname of her 4-year-old daughter to “Biden,” arguing the Biden name is “now synonymous with being well educated, successful, financially acute, and politically powerful.” Earlier this month, Hunter Biden was ordered to appear at the Arkansas court, where a judge ordered him to reveal financial information on his art sales and investment income as part of a child support case.
