As if the situation in Afghanistan couldn’t get more dangerous and embarrassing for America…

The Taliban has rejected Joe Biden’s request to extend the deadline for withdrawal in Afghanistan.

The Taliban also warned Biden that there “will be consequences” if the US or UK decide to extend their withdrawal:

Taliban spokesman Dr. Shaheen announced just hours after Biden spoke on Sunday night that there would be no extension and warned of retaliation if the US and UK’s ‘occupation’ is extended:

‘It’s a red line. President Biden announced that on 31 August they would withdraw all their military forces. So if they extend it that means they are extending occupation while there is no need for that’

The US is supposed to be out of Afghanistan by August 31, but there are thousands of Americans still trapped and waiting to get out. It is nearly an impossible task to evacuate all of the thousands of people from the Taliban-controlled country. What happens if American troops have to cross that “red line”?

Even though Biden said there would be ‘discussions’ about extending the withdrawal, the Taliban is sticking to the set date:

‘There are going to be discussions I suspect on how far along we are in the process.” – Joe Biden

This morning, the UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that the evacuation is ‘down to hours now, not weeks.’

A recent report of a Washington Post reporter and crew being rescued by the British forces calls attention to the lack of ability of US forces to evacuate Americans.

Will there be a hostage situation once the deadline of August 31 comes?
