President Donald Trump is calling for an investigation into Maryland Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings amid a series of new allegations.
As noted by The Hill, Trump suggested that money intended for Cummings’s West Baltimore district has been “stolen or wasted.”
The president also argued that Cummings, who serves as the chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee “should investigate himself.”
“Billions of dollars have been pumped in over the years, but to no avail. The money was stolen or wasted. Ask Elijah Cummings where it went. He should investigate himself with his Oversight Committee!” Trump tweeted Monday night.
