Republican candidate for Nevada Senate Adam Laxalt is in a tight race, as he is in the lead with 90% of votes counted. Laxalt feels like he is in a “great position” as the remaining votes continue to come in.

Laxalt, who has 49.4% of the vote, is up against the incumbent Democrat Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, who has 47.6%. However, America will have to wait longer than planned for all the votes to be counted after election officials were flooded with thousands of mail-in ballots.
On Thursday night, Laxalt joined Fox News’ Tucker Carlson to discuss the race. Laxalt reported that he and his team feel “really, really strongly about where this race is heading.” He then explained to Carlson why he doesn’t believe Cortez Masto would be able to catch up to him in the race.
“We feel really, really strongly about where this race is heading. We’ve been in the lead, obviously since election night. That lead has shrunk over the last few days, but she does not have the amount of votes left to be able to catch us. She’d have to win by over 63%. And it’s important to note since most of the national media is not covering this, the Las Vegas mail ballots that are being reported include Election Day dropoff mail. That mail is absolutely not going to break like traditional mail to the USPS. Those are Election Day voters. And just to give you an example, in Washoe County, we had more Republicans drop off Election Day ballots than Democrats. And so, again, as we put out the math for the world, she has to win by over 63% in all of this. And we think these Election Day ballots could break even. We could stand to lose them by 15-20 points, and we would still hold.”

“We feel like we’re in a great, great position,” added Laxalt.
Clark County Clerk just reported there are just over 50K ballots left. This number includes Election Day drop off. We know there are rural and Washoe votes to be counted. Assuming these two at least offset, then Cortez Masto needs 63.5% to catch us. We remain very confident.— Adam Paul Laxalt (@AdamLaxalt) November 10, 2022
