Trump To Sign Funding Compromise? Executive Order Readied To Fund Wall

There are rumors that the president is readying an executive order to build the rest of the wall and avert the government shutdown by accepting the compromise crafted by House and Senate lawmakers.

It looks like President Trump has played his hand well, despite being dealt bad cards from day one. Rumors abound in D.C. that the president plans to take a middle ground approach to the wall funding by accepting the deal crafted earlier this week, and then get the rest of his wall built without Congress.

According to the Washington Post, President Trump plans to use an executive order to reallocate federal funds to complete the wall… or at least, much more than the 55 miles approved by the compromise deal.

Naturally, democrats are furious that they are losing the battle. In fact, a recent Florida poll shows rising support for the President and plunging media credibility.

A White House spokesman quoted by Fox reportedly insisted that Trump has “alternative options” for his border wall deal, which may include the order or other monies.

This despite the fact that California basically stole over $3 billion in federal money for their ‘high speed’ train that will now be scrapped.

“After telling reporters that he was “not happy” with the compromise border-security bill (which reportedly included some funding for “a barrier”), President Trump will reportedly set aside his dissatisfaction and vote for the bill anyway, according to CNN.”

“The compromise includes $1.375 billion for 55 miles of border barrier, which falls well short of the $5.7 billion Trump had originally demanded. It’s also below the $1.6 billion proposal included in a Senate package last year. Though reports have suggested that Trump is still seriously considering going the ‘national emergency’ route.”

However, Trump on Tuesday praised the fact that the deal included $23 billion in border security funding.

The president’s recent court wins may have also played a role in his decision.

California and a number of ‘environmental groups’ tried to overturn a law passed nearly thirty years ago that allows the president to waive certain restrictions to build border barriers, and the Ninth Circuit Appeals Court denied lawsuits aimed at stopping him.

The point seems relatively clear: Trump will build his border wall, just as he promised, and democrats’ schemes to impugn him have failed, along with their attempt to de-legitimize his term with their collusion set-up.
