A video being shared online that looks legitimate is reported “dash cam footage” from a civilian vehicle showing the start of the deadly shooting at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas, not all that far from my own Dallas, Texas.
If it is not a dash cam exactly, it is at least video from a fixed location in a vehicle.
The outlet mall is a major one, one of the biggest in North Texas, and shopped at by everyone from Fox News host Lawrence Jones to radio star Dana Loesch to Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.
There are many videos circulating online, some of which I do not recommend viewing that show the aftermath of the shooting, which resulted in an unknown number of dead and many others wounded.
One video that seems clearly authentic to me is from the dashboard camera of a civilian vehicle and seems to show the shooter getting out of his own car and just opening fire on the crowd.
It is disturbing, scary, and troubling, and while not gory and not as far as I can tell showing anyone being hit, I would definitely say it requires a warning.
