Liberals rushed to blame Republicans and members of the “far-right” Friday for the attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul.
An assailant broke into the Pelosi home in San Francisco and “violently assaulted” him while Nancy Pelosi and her private security were located in Washington, D.C. Paul was transported to a hospital, where he is recovering from his injuries.
Liberals on Twitter blamed the “far-right” and supporters of former President Donald Trump for the attack, even though there is no confirmed information about the suspect or the motivation for the attack.
“We don’t know why someone violently assaulted Paul Pelosi today. Yet. But it’s hard not to notice that the same Republicans who keep talking about crime *keep inciting people to violence.* Their logic is self-perpetuating. More fear, more violence, more guns. Rinse & repeat,” Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, a Democrat, and CNN political commentator, wrote.

I’m not going to jump to any conclusions but if I were a betting man, I would put a lot of money on Paul Pelosi’s assailant owning a MAGA hat.

Somebody attacked Paul Pelosi because they didn’t like his wife’s politics.

Think about where our country is right now. Violence in a private home. Over politics.
I miss 2012, our last normal election cycle (ps I love you @SpeakerPelosi!) https://t.co/8l5AS2FzVx
The attack on Paul Pelosi is proof they would have killed Nancy Pelosi had they had the chance to Jan. 6.

Don't let anyone normalize that day as anything less than what it was.
What happened to Paul Pelosi earlier this morning is a horrifying continuation of violent political expression in this country.

Team Huffman fervently denounces all uses of political violence in this country and calls upon @RepDanBishop to do the same.
Several on the left also criticized a segment of Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” where anchor Bill Hemmer and contributor Leo Terrell focused the rising crime rate across the U.S. Terrell said that “crime does discriminate” against race, gender or political affiliation.
Pelosi’s husband was arrested and charged with one count of driving under the influence and one count of allegedly driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher in August. A Jeep struck his 2021 Porsche while he was allegedly intoxicated in Yontville, California. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
