Ever since President Donald Trump won the 2016 election, many liberal media outlets have been determined to ruin his reputation. Their most common way of doing so involves spreading false or misleading information about him and his associates.

One of the worst proprietors of misinformation is CNN. Their coverage of the election and subsequent reporting of President Trump made it clear that they are more interested in being partisan than truthful. Fortunately, some Trump supporters have decided to take action against them.

Specifically, members of the Main Street Patriots (MSP), a grassroots organization, plan on protesting outside of CNN’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia later this week. Debbie Dooley, one of the co-founders of the organization, told reporters that the purpose of their protest is to show support for President Trump and to speak out against their biased coverage. “We’re encouraging people to come out and support our president and to condemn the extreme biased coverage at CNN,” she explained.

According to Dooley, “CNN threw objective journalism out the window once Donald Trump was elected President and have begun to report DNC talking points as news. CNN can no longer claim to be a news organization that reports facts without bias because they report innuendo with no facts as news with the intent on bringing down a democratically-elected President.” As a result, she believes that “they have simply become an entertainment network not to be taken seriously.”

Details about the protest were first released on MSP’s website last week. “Since President Trump was elected President, fake news media outlets like CNN have thrown objective journalism out the window and have begun to report fake news. They frequently have to retract or change their news stories because they get it so wrong. Time for us to stand up against fake news CNN,” stated the website, adding,  “Time for Trump supporters to get active and show the Democrats that we are very passionate about our support of President Trump and we will fight hard to pass his agenda.” The address to the CNN headquarters and time of the event were also included in the announcement.

On Facebook, they added, “bring your signs and let’s show CNN that we support President Trump and call them out for becoming an arm of the DNC intent on bringing down President Trump with biased coverage and false innuendos.”

Unfortunately, there are countless examples of CNN’s biased coverage against Trump. A recent example occurred after Rep. Greg Gianforte (R-MT) got into a fight with a reporter, the left-wing news outlet immediately blamed Trump. “You’ve got this kind of culture of, you know, reporters are the enemy going on and it depends. You see a lot of Democrats pointing the finger at the President right now. Saying you created, you helped create, at least, this culture where people consider reporters to be, you know, a fifth column or something,” stated The Washington Post’s Karoun Demirjian while discussing the incident on CNN. “It certainly creates an environment in which this is somehow okay to hate reporters and sometimes fists fly,” she added.

However, comments like this are clearly absurd. He’s not creating “an environment in which it’s okay to hate reporters.” The president simply points out the mainstream media’s blatant bias against him. Given this, their attempt to blame Trump for Gianforte’s misconduct shows just how desperate they are to make him look bad.

If they really don’t want to be called out, then they should do a better job of reporting in a more impartial way. At the very least, they should be honest about their bias. If they continue to claim that they’re fair and nonpartisan, it’s likely that they’ll continue to be accused of spreading “fake news.”

The left’s attempt to undermine President Trump must be met with strong resistance from conservatives. Conservatives should work together to protest and boycott any news outlet that spreads lies about Trump. Doing so will hopefully help deter false and misleading information from being published in the future.
