ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — A man was arrested after he reportedly became so enraged over a lack of air-conditioning in his elderly parents’ home that he threatened them with a knife, and beat and cut his father.

Robert Generosa, 49, is now facing charges of assault against a household member with intent to commit a violent felony and aggravated battery against a household member with a deadly weapon, according to kob.com.

According to reports, he was in jail on a $5,000 bond.

Court documents show Generosa became angered early Friday morning over the lack of air-conditioning and began waving the knife in the air and threatening his parents. He eventually cut his father in the face and hit him in the head with the knife’s handle, fox6now.com reports.

He was arrested after his mother called police.

“Obviously the son has some problems, you know?” neighbor James Brazell tells fox6now.com. “Families have problems and everything else. I’m just sorry to see that.”
